Afrobeats singer David Adeleke, aka Davido, bantered with FCT minister Nyesom Wike in a short clip circulating on social media over Governor Ademola Adeleke’s victory in the Osun governorship election.

Davido and Mr Adeleke visited the FCT minister on Thursday in Abuja, where Davido teased him about the Osun election outcome.

In the short clip, the singer said, “I won, beat you guys,” as Mr Wike responded, disputing the claim, saying, “No, no.”

Davido insisted, “I won! I beat you.” Mr Wike asked, “You beat us?” Mr Wike asked.

“I beat you,” Davido added.

Davido is not an admirer of the All Progressives Congress and did not hide his disgust for the party and its supporters. He even opposed Mr Adeleke’s support for President Bola Tinubu’s re-election bid, calling the APC “ruthless and disgusting”.

Meanwhile, Mr Wike said the president’s re-election would be easy in 2027
