Ilhan Omar accuses Trump of weaponising security agents, targeting her with lies for decade

Ilhan Omar, a Democratic member of the U.S. House of Representatives, has accused President Donald Trump’s administration of weaponising law enforcement agents, dismissing a raid on her home by federal agents as a smear campaign.
“I’m ok. Make no mistake: this is an attempt to target political enemies and weaponise federal law enforcement,” Ms Omar said on X, hours after federal agents raided her home in Washington, D.C.
The Democratic lawmaker accused Mr Trump of targeting her with lies and smear campaigns over the past decade, insisting that she would not be silenced.
“For ten years, Trump has targeted me with baseless lies and smear campaigns. This is just the latest escalation in his campaign of political intimidation. I will not be silenced,” Ms Omar said.
Earlier on Monday, federal agents raided Ms Omar’s home in Washington, D.C., as part of an ongoing federal criminal investigation. The raid on her residence came just three weeks before election day in the midterm elections.
Details of the investigation involving Ms Omar have yet to be made public. However, Mr Trump and other Republican politicians have repeatedly accused her of obtaining citizenship fraudulently.
