Insecurity: We’ll care for policemen working with us: Gov. Makinde

Governor Seyi Makinde says he is willing to cater for the welfare of policemen and other security agents working with him in Oyo to protect lives and property in Oyo.
Mr Makinde stated this while receiving the new Assistant Inspector General of Police in charge of Zone II Command, Osogbo, Olasupo Ajani, in his office, on Tuesday in Ibadan.
The governor commended the Commissioner of Police in the state, Ngozi Onadeko, and her team for their unrelenting efforts and commitment to protecting lives and property.
“I am available anytime. Do not hesitate to call me when you need our help. We are not sparing any effort to keep our people safe and secure.
“We will also prioritise the welfare of officers and men of the police force working with us. So I wish you a successful tenure of office and pray that you will go higher and higher,” explained Mr Makinde.
Earlier in his remarks, Mr Ajani noted that the purpose of the visit was to formally inform the governor of his arrival as the new AIG Zone II.
“I was even told that yesterday (April 26), you donated another six Hilux vehicles to the state police command for patrol.
“We thank you very much, and we hope you will continue to support us. I also want to solicit for your collaboration in all areas of need,” the AIG said.
Mr Ajani added, “On our plans to nip insecurity in the bud, we only need to increase intelligence gathering because this regime is that of intelligent policing.
“Without intelligence, we won’t be able to do the job. So we need the support of the people.”
