The Independent National Electoral Commission has uploaded only nine completed results out of the 21 local government areas in the Anambra governorship poll on its Result Viewing Portal (IReV).

The LGAs are Onitsha North LGA, with 313 polling units; Akwa South LGA, with 390 polling units; Orumba South LGA, with 208 polling units; Idemili North LGA, with 467 polling units; and Ihiala LGA, with 323 polling units. Others are Oyi LGA, with 207 polling units; Anambra East LGA, with 241 polling units; Dunukofia LGA, with 165 polling units; and Ayemelum LGA, with 191 polling units.

The electoral body has not provided any reasons for this.

INEC had, in the early hours of Sunday, declared Governor Charles Soludo the winner of the election.

According to INEC, Mr Soludo polled 422,664 votes to defeat the other 15 governorship candidates who participated in the election.

The gubernatorial poll was characterised by vote-buying, according to observers and candidates participating in the election.
