Israel-Hamas War: Civilians get new time slot to escape to southern Gaza

Israel’s army on Tuesday once again gave civilians in the embattled northern Gaza Strip a window of opportunity to flee to the south of the coastal region.
According to Israel’s army, the escape corridor will remain open between 9:00 a.m. and 4:00 p.m. (0700-1400 GMT) for humanitarian purposes.
The army also published a map showing the designated route of escape.
In addition, all civilians stuck on the coast due to the ongoing fighting could take the main Salah al-Din Road between 10:00 a.m. and 4:00 p.m., it said.
From there, they could make their way to the region south of Wadi Gaza.
The army also named two neighbourhoods in the city of Gaza where there will be a humanitarian pause in the fighting between 10:00 a.m. and 2:00 p.m.
This should enable the people there to flee to the south, the army said.
All civilians who are prevented from fleeing by Hamas fighters can contact the Israeli army by telephone or via the Telegram platform.
For several weeks Israel has been calling on the civilian population in the northern part of the sealed-off coastal strip, including Gaza City, to move to the south for their own safety.
However, there have also been several Israeli airstrikes in the southern part of the territory.
The army said these were exclusively targeted attacks on Hamas members.
The information could not be independently verified.
