IWD: Plateau to train 1000 women in digital skills, artificial intelligence, others

The Plateau State Government is set to empower 1000 women with various skills, including training in artificial intelligence, to boost their economic status and make them self-reliant.
Helen Mutfwang, wife of the state governor, Caleb Mutfwang, made the disclosure in commemoration of the International Women’s Day in Jos.
Mrs Mutfwang said that the women, particularly young ones, would be given special training in digital skills, such as video editing, coding, and cinematography.
The governor’s wife explained that the state would also enroll some of the women in extensive fish farming training and other aspects of agriculture in batches.
She stated that all the beneficiaries would be supported with start-up grants at the end of the training.
Mrs Mutfwang said that the theme for this year’s International Women’s Day, “Invest in Women: Accelerate Progress,” with the campaign theme “Inspire Inclusion, was apt.
“The theme aims to forge a more inclusive world for the female gender, and also to underscore the need to invest more in women to enable them access diverse opportunities to participate in development. I call on our women and girls to take full advantage of these opportunities provided by the Plateau Government to change the narrative in the state.
“I will continue to work assiduously with the governor to support all efforts aimed at strengthening and addressing poverty, as well as enhancing the capacities of women and girls. This is in order to accelerate the progress of the state,” Mrs Mutfwang added.
