The Jos Electricity Distribution Company has requested Tiamin Rice Mill in Bauchi, Bauchi State to patronise it and enhance its revenue generation.

The Tiamin Rice Mill is a grain processing company that has the capacity for huge energy consumption.

In a statement on Sunday, JEDC’s Head, Corporate Communications, Dr. Elijah Adakole, said that the company’s Managing Director, Mr Abdu-Bello Mohammed, made the appeal when he visited the management of the rice mill on Saturday.

He said, “Mohammed took a comprehensive facility tour of the mill to determine its energy needs, and the possibility of giving it an uninterrupted power supply when it starts patronising the JEDC.”

The MD also used the opportunity to discuss the possibility of JEDC entering into a business partnership with the rice mill for the supply of subsidised rice for its members of staff.

The General Manager of Tiamin, Abubakar Giade, who received the JEDC MD and his team, expressed optimism over the prospects of doing business with the company.

The JEDC’s network covers Bauchi, Gombe, Benue, and Plateau states.

Since the MD’s assumption of office in 2023, he has visited several huge energy-consuming companies that were hitherto using alternative sources of energy and persuaded them to take their energy from JEDC.

Some of the companies are Nasco Group of Companies, Jos, Dangote Cement Plant, Gboko, Grand Cereals Oil Mill, and Gombe Rice Millers, among others.
