Jigawa: Council boss calls for stronger NDLEA action against drug peddling

The chairman of Guri Local Government Council in Jigawa, Abubakar Umar-Danbarde, has called on the personnel of the National Drug Law Enforcement Agency (NDLEA) in the area to actively chase out drug peddlers.
This was stated by Fahad Muhammad, the council’s information officer, in a statement on Sunday in Dutse.
Mr Muhammad quoted Mr Umar-Danbarde as making the call during his inspection of the agency’s office, which had been renovated by the council.
Mr Umar-Danbarde emphasised that the renovation aimed to support the NDLEA’s ongoing fight against drug abuse in the area.
He urged the officers to remain vigilant in every corner of the council to effectively flush out drug dealers.
The chairman further reiterated the council’s firm commitment to combating drug abuse among the youth in the region.
