Joe Biden, Boris Johnson, EU leaders should visit Ukraine: Poland

The Polish Prime Minister Mateusz Morawiecki has urged the leaders of the European Union countries, U.S. President Joe Biden and UK Prime Minister Boris Johnson to visit the Ukrainian capital in a show of solidarity.
He said German chancellor, French president, and other EU government leaders should travel to Kyiv, look into the eyes of the women and children there and help them to save lives and their independence.
According to him, Ukrainians are fighting for the values of Europe and the western world.
Kyiv has been regularly shelled since Russia launched its invasion of Ukraine on February 24.
The prime ministers of Poland, the Czech Republic and Slovenia travelled to Kyiv by train on Tuesday and met with Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky in a show of support.
Andriy Melnyk, Ukraine’s ambassador to Germany, said while the trip might have been symbolic politics, “but it gave the people of more than two million in Kyiv, who have stayed in the city courage.”
The ambassador also urged German chancellor Olaf Scholz to travel to Kyiv in comments to Bild Live.
“It would be nice if Chancellor Scholz could visit Kyiv sometime, in order to see the destruction and get a feeling of what people are dealing with here,” said the Ukrainian ambassador.
