Jos man handed prison sentence for stealing phone

The Area Court in Jos on Wednesday sentenced one Miracle Pam to 12 months’ imprisonment for house breaking and stealing a phone worth N126,000.
The judge, Irene Pati, sentenced the convict after he pleaded guilty to the offence.
She, however, gave the convict the option of a fine of N30,000.
Earlier, the police prosecutor, Ijuptil Daniel, told the court that the case was reported at the Laranto Division Police Station on November 25, 2025, by the complainant, Emmanuel Samuel.
Mr Daniel said that the complainant told the police that the accused person trespassed into his house with a dangerous weapon and stole his Infinix Spark 9 phone valued at N126,000.
The prosecutor also told the court that during the police investigation, the accused person confessed to having committed the offence.
He added that during the now-convicted’s arrest, the stolen phone was found in his possession.
