American poet Louise Glück wins Nobel literature prize

Ms. Glück has won the National Humanities Medal, the Pulitzer Prize and the National Book Award.

The Nobel Committee on Monday awarded the 2020 Nobel Prize in Literature to Louise Glück, an American, “for her unmistakable poetic voice that with austere beauty makes individual existence universal.”

The announcement was made today by the committee. Ms. Glück has won the National Humanities Medal, the Pulitzer Prize and the National Book Award.
