Chelsea reach verbal agreement to appoint Graham Potter as new manager

Chelsea FC has reached a verbal agreement for the appointment of Graham Potter as their new manager following the dismissal of Thomas Tuchel on Wednesday morning.
According to Skysports, discussions took place between Chelsea’s hierarchy and the representatives of Potter to finalise some of the essential details of the contract.
It was also reported that documents are now being prepared and only a matter of time for Potter to sign the contract and to be officially announced as the new Chelsea first-team coach.
Renowned transfer journalist, Fabrizio Romano, confirmed the contract was going to be a long-term project and Chelsea would discuss with Brighton on payment of a certain compensatory amount.
Potter, 47, Potter began his managerial career with Swedish outfit Östersunds FK in 2011, where he guided them to the top division before leaving for Swansea City and establishing them in the Sky Bet Championship.
He was appointed as Brighton manager in 2019 and led the Seagulls to their highest finish in the Premier League.
Brighton finished ninth on the table and accumulated 52 points which were their highest to be recorded, scoring 42 goals in that season.
