Electrical fault sparks fire at Army headquarters

Army spokesman told Peoples Gazette that the the level of damage caused by the inferno is minimal.

A fire outbreak occurred at the Nigerian Army Headquarters building in Abuja, army spokesperson Mohammed Yerima made the disclosure Tuesday in a statement.

Mr. Yerima, a brigadier-general, disclosed that the fire out break was caused by faulty electrical installations.

“Electrical fault sparked a minor fire incident at the Army Headquarters Complex, Abuja, Tuesday morning.

 “The incident which happened at about 10.15 a.m. was as a result of minor electrical fault in one of the offices, the army spokesman said.

When contacted Tuesday afternoon to assess the level of damage the fire might have caused, Mr. Yerima told Peoples Gazette that the the level of damage caused by the inferno is minimal.

“If there’s serious serious damage you would have see it in my report.” Mr. Yerima said.
