Kaduna govt holds 2026 civil service exam for 3,000 workers

The Kaduna government has commenced the 2026 civil service examination to confirm the appointments of 3,000 civil servants.
The examination, which opened at the ICT Centre on the Kaduna State University (KASU) Main Campus in Kaduna, is being conducted by the Office of the Head of Service in collaboration with Kumesh Integrated Concept Ltd.
Speaking at the ICT centre on Wednesday, the head of service, Jummai Bako, said the exam was critical for newly recruited civil servants to be confirmed into permanent service.
“Once a civil servant is confirmed, they become eligible to enjoy leave of absence, transfer of service, and even in-service training. That is why it is very important for every civil servant recruited into the service of the Kaduna State government to write the CAC exams for confirmation of appointment,” Ms Bako said.
She noted that the exam covers areas directly related to civil servants’ daily duties, including administrative, financial, legal, and medical courses, as well as general knowledge of issues within the state and the country at large.
The head of service added that the questions are categorised into about five sections to reflect different departments and levels, including administration, legal, and medical personnel.
“The exam covers staff from ministries, departments, and the 23 local government areas of the state, excluding tertiary institutions. For candidates who fail, they will get a second chance in 2027,” she said.
Ms Bako urged candidates to put in their best because confirmation comes with several benefits. She lauded Governor Uba Sani for releasing funds for the examination and for his commitment to workers’ welfare, including salary adjustments and prompt payment.
“His Excellency has done a lot for civil servants. On behalf of the civil servants, I promise that we will continue to do our best in implementing government policies, because civil servants are the engine of every government,” she stated.
