Kano police arrest two suspects over attack on Lil Kesh in Lagos

The Kano State Police Command has announced the arrest of two suspects in connection with the armed robbery and attempted murder of singer Lil Kesh in Bera Estate, Chevron area, in Lekki, Lagos State.
The police said the suspects, Mathew Adewole and Mukhtar Muhammad, were apprehended on September 11 at Na’ibawa Quarters, Kano.
This is contained in a statement by the command’s spokesperson, SP Abdullahi Kiyawa, on Saturday in Kano.
Mr Kiyawa said Mr Adewole confessed to attacking Lil Kesh, a resident of Bera Estate, on August 19, causing serious injuries, including a deep cut on the victim’s neck.
The suspects forced the victim to transfer N2,120,000 from his account to Mr Muhammad’s account.
He said the arrest of the suspects was made possible through robust intelligence and community collaboration, in line with the directive of Inspector-General of Police Kayode Egbetokun.
Mr Kiyawa said the command has been working to enhance its intelligence capabilities and leverage community policing and strategic partnerships.
He said the state Commissioner of Police, Ibrahim Bakori, commended the operatives for their diligence and the public for their cooperation.
Mr Bakori assured members of the public of the command’s continued efforts to ensure safety and security across the state.
