Governor Dikko Radda says media scrutiny has strengthened his administration and sharpened its decision-making.

He stated this on Wednesday while signing the 2026 appropriation bill into law at the Katsina Government House.

Mr Radda thanked journalists for what he described as steady support since his administration began in 2023.

“You have been very supportive and cooperative to this administration,” he said while addressing reporters at the event.

He added that criticism remained essential to good governance when fairly applied.

“Even though you wrote some criticisms, that has strengthened us. If you are not criticised, you may overlook some things,” the governor said.

The governor said his team carefully assesses every critical report. “If it is genuine, you take it. If it is not, you throw it to the basket and move ahead,” he said.

Mr Radda also said security in many affected areas had improved, pointing to bumper harvests as evidence of stability. He noted that conditions two years ago were very different and urged the public to sustain prayers for continued peace.

He challenged critics to observe developments firsthand.

“Even for those who don’t want to hear we have peace, they should go back to their villages and see what is happening,” he said.

Mr Radda added that some critics rarely visited their communities.

“They don’t know how their brothers and sisters are doing. It is better they go visit their farms to see what happens,” he added.
