Katsina police place N50 million bounty on two dangerous bandits

The police spokesperson said the safety and well-being of the residents were important.

The Katsina State Police Command on Sunday offered a N50 million reward to anyone with useful information that will lead to the arrest of the suspected bandit’s kingpins, Modi Modi and Jan Kare.

The police in a statement by the Command’s Public Relations Officer, ASP Abubakar Aliyu, in Katsina alleged that the duo were responsible for most of the terrorist attacks in the state.

He stated, “The Katsina State Police Command wishes to announce a reward of N50 million to any individual who provides valuable information that will lead to the arrest of two bandits’ kingpins. They are popularly known as Modi Modi and Jan Kare, all males, operating within Katsina State, particularly in the regions of Kankara and Safana Local Government Areas.

“The safety and well-being of the residents are of paramount importance, hence, the state government and the police command’s commitments in taking decisive actions against criminal elements that threaten the peace and stability of the inhabitants of the state.’’

Mr Aliyu explained that the identity of the informant and the information provided would be kept strictly confidential to ensure their safety and protection.

He added, “All concerned citizens are encouraged to come forward with any relevant information that could assist the security agencies in apprehending the masterminds behind these heinous crimes of kidnapping and banditry in the state.
