KDMDC seeks NOA partnership for Settlement Week sensitisation in Kaduna

The Kaduna State Multi-Door Courthouse has sought partnership with the National Orientation Agency to enhance public sensitisation on Alternative Dispute Resolution mechanisms ahead of the 2026 Settlement Week.
The director of the KDMDC, Dorcas Daniel, made the appeal during a courtesy visit to the Kaduna directorate of NOA.
Ms Daniel, who led a delegation of mediators and staff of the centre, said the collaboration would help deepen grassroots awareness on peaceful conflict resolution and access to justice.
She described ADR mechanisms, including mediation, conciliation and arbitration, as effective tools for promoting peaceful settlement of disputes and reducing congestion in courts.
According to her, the KDMDC will hold its Settlement Week 2026 from July 27 to July 31 at the ADR Centre, High Court Complex, Kaduna.
She said the programme would run daily from 10:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m., adding that members of the public would have opportunities to resolve disputes amicably through mediation and other ADR processes.
Ms Daniel appealed to the NOA to support the initiative through community mobilisation, advocacy campaigns, stakeholder engagement and public enlightenment activities.
NOA’s director in Kaduna, Danjuma Makama, commended the KDMDC for its role in promoting peace and social harmony through ADR initiatives.
Mr Makama said the agency remained committed to grassroots sensitisation and civic education across the state. He noted that the NOA had personnel in the 23 council areas, supported by more than 255 ward volunteers statewide.
The two organisations expressed optimism that the collaboration would strengthen peacebuilding, conflict prevention and access to justice in Kaduna.
