Kebbi assembly to collaborate with media for enhanced publicity

The Kebbi State House of Assembly has pledged to partner with the media to propagate the activities of the house and the government in general.
Receiving the executive members of the Correspondents’ Chapel of the Nigerian Union of Journalists (NUJ), Kebbi chapter, the speaker of the House, Muhammad Usman-Zuru, lauded the chapel’s leadership for the foresight and initiative to visit the House.
The speaker, represented by Abdullahi Danjuma, chairman of the House Committee on Information, said the partnership would be beneficial to both parties.
While describing the media as a crucial tool for propagating information, the speaker stated that the visit and partnership with the assembly will certainly facilitate mutual benefits.
“I assure you that you will have our own support. I urge the media to support the good policies and programmes of the state government and publicise them so that more people will be enlightened and informed about them,” Mr Danjuma said.
Earlier, the chairman of the Correspondents’ Chapel, Kabir Wurma, said the essence of the visit was to create a cordial working relationship with the state assembly.
The chairman noted that the union wanted to collaborate with the House to publicise its activities and projects, especially those that have a direct bearing on the general public.
Mr Wurma appreciated the lawmakers for the good bills they have been passing and urged them to sustain the tempo for the good of all.
