Kebbi senator Garba Maidoki dumps APC

A lawmaker representing Kebbi South Senatorial District, Garba Maidoki, has announced his resignation from the All Progressives Congress (APC), citing the party’s lingering internal crises.
In a memo addressed to the party’s ward chairman in Rafin Zuru, Kebbi, on May 14, 2026, the lawmaker said his decision was informed by the party’s persistent crises.
“1 am writing to inform you of the withdrawal of my membership from the All Progressives Congress, APC, Rafin Zuru Ward. My decision is based on the lingering internal crises of the APC that have made my political aspirations a source of concern,” Mr Maidoki said.
He also thanked the party for the opportunity to serve under its platform.
Mr Maidoki won the Kebbi South senatorial seat in the 2023 election under the platform of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), defeating Bala Na’Allah of the APC.
