Kevin De Bruyne wins EPL player of the season ahead Mo Salah

Manchester City midfielder Kevin De Bruyne on Saturday emerged Premier League’s Player of the season, beating Liverpool talisman Mo Salah.Â
With 15 goals and seven assists this season, De Bruyne won majority votes to beat Salah and other players nominated for the award this season.
“There is so much quality in the Premier League and it is a pleasure to be nominated with so many other great players who have had incredible seasons for their clubs,” said De Bruyne.Â
“I think my performances this season have been good and I am happy that I have been able to contribute with goals and assists throughout the season,” he added.Â
De Bruyne won this season’s award based on votes from panel of football experts, 20 EPL club captains and public votes on Premier League website.Â
Other players nominated for the award include, Manchester City’s Joao Cancelo, Liverpool’s Trent Alexander-Arnold, West Ham’s Jarrod Bowen, Bukayo Saka of Arsenal, Son Heung-min of Tottenham and James Ward-Prowse of Southampton.Â
De Bruyne, 30, who won same award in 2020, has now joined the likes of Thierry Henry, Cristiano Ronaldo and Nemanja Vidic who have won the award more than once.Â
