An agent in the All Progressives Congress’ House of Representatives election in Jebba Ward, Moro LGA of Kwara, Johnson Babatunde, has raised alarm over forgery, impersonation and fraudulent misrepresentation of his name and signature in a released primary election result for Moro/Edu/Patigi Federal Constituency in the state.

In a petition addressed to the state APC chairman, Sunday Fagbemi, and obtained by Peoples Gazette on Monday, Mr Babatunde said, “My attention has been drawn to a purported House of Representatives primary election result for Moro/Edu/Patigi Federal Constituency.”

He noted that his name was listed on the said document and a signature falsely presented as his was appended thereto without his knowledge, consent, authorisation and participation.

Mr Babatunde further stated that one Emmanuel Bello reportedly led a protest to the APC state secretariat, adding “the said forged document was referenced and relied upon in an attempt to support and facilitate the declaration of Dr Joshua Ajani as winner of the House of Representatives primary election”.

He said Barrister Hussan Afolabi scored 1,059 in Jebba Ward when the vote was counted, noting insinuation that he scored 987 votes in the whole of Moro LGA was false, scandalous and mischievous.

The politician denied having any knowledge of the said document and authorising anyone to append his signature on his behalf, urging the ruling APC to investigate the criminal act.

“In view of the foregoing, I humbly appeal to your good office to investigate this criminal act, identify the persons involved in the forgery and fraudulent use of my signature, including the circumstances surrounding the presentation of the said document and ensure that justice is served in accordance with the law,” he added.
