The chairman of Agege Local Government Area in Lagos, Abdul-Ganiyu Obasa, on Friday met with executives of the National Union of Road Transport Workers (NURTW) over the ongoing All Progressives Congress (APC) digital registration drive.

The meeting, held at Pen-Cinema, formed part of the council boss’ stakeholder consultations to ensure broad participation in the APC’s membership e-registration exercise across Agege.

Mr Obasa charged the union leaders to mobilise members for the ongoing exercise, stressing its importance for grassroots inclusion and internal party democracy.

The council boss said the e-registration would “strengthen party democracy, improve membership records, and deepen grassroots political inclusion.”

He described the NURTW as a vital grassroots structure influencing transport operators and working-class residents.

Mr Obasa urged union leaders to sensitise members across motor parks, garages and transport corridors, noting that APC’s digital registration reflected transparency, credibility and modern political organisation.

Tajudeen Balogun, Agege NURTW branch chairman, commended Mr Obasa’s engagement and pledged to liaise with the branch’s members.

“We will mobilise our members and work closely with party officials to ensure smooth and successful registration,” he said.
