The chairman of the All Progressives Congress in Lagos, Cornelius Ojelabi, has felicitated Nigerians on the 2025 Christmas and New Year celebrations.

Mr Ojelabi called for national unity and a collective resolve to save Nigeria from forces undermining its future.

The APC chairman made the call in a Christmas message on Thursday. He urged Nigerians to embrace peace, love and goodwill as they celebrate with family and friends across the country.

“As we gather with family and friends today, I wish everyone peace, love, and the warmth of God’s grace that Christmas comes with,” Mr Ojelabi said.

He described Christmas as a season of joy, hope and renewed strength anchored on the birth of Jesus Christ.

“Christmas is all about joy, hope and happiness, and the assurance of peace, love and grace in abundance,” he said.

Mr Ojelabi said that the birth of Christ reassures believers of God’s presence and offers renewed excitement for the future.

“Jesus is peace and joy, the reason for our hope and happiness,” he said.

He, consequently, urged Nigerians to use the season to love one another and promote peaceful coexistence.

“Let us give peace a chance in our dealings and become agents of peace and prosperity,” he said.

Mr Ojelabi called on citizens to cooperate with leaders to reposition Nigeria globally.

“Let us work with our leaders to restore Nigeria’s rightful place in the comity of nations,” he said.

The APC chairman urged civic responsibility and public participation, especially among Lagos residents.

Meanwhile, he described the coming year as significant for national development and collective progress.

“To every Lagos resident, your voice matters: engage, stay informed, and participate in civic processes. Together, we can shape a brighter future for our children and generations to come,” Mr Ojelabi said.

He wished Nigerians peaceful celebrations and a prosperous New Year.
