Orile-Agege Local Council Development Area (LCDA), with the Lagos State Primary Health Care Board, will begin a measles-rubella vaccination campaign to protect children and adolescents.

This is contained in a statement on Monday by Sunday Adefamoye, chief press secretary to the chairman of Orile-Agege LCDA, Akinola Idowu.

The campaign will run from January 27 to February 5 across the council area.

It will offer routine immunisation, measles-rubella vaccines, and HPV shots for children aged 0–23 months and girls aged 9–14 years.

Vaccinations will be conducted at primary health centres, schools, markets, mosques, churches and other designated outreach locations within Orile-Agege LCDA.

According to the chairman, the initiative demonstrates the council’s commitment to protecting the health and wellbeing of children and young people.

“Vaccination is a proven, safe and effective way to build a healthier future for our community,” Mr Idowu said.

Anne Okonma, medical officer of health (MOH) at the council, assured residents that all vaccines were safe and would be administered by trained health professionals.
