Lagos drug dealers sentenced to 600 hours of community service

The Lagos Division of the Federal High Court on Thursday convicted and sentenced two illegal drug dealers, Christian Osinachi and Odinaka Enwere, to 300 hours of community service each.
Osinachi, 27, and Enwere, 34, were sentenced for conspiracy to engage in drug trafficking and drug trafficking.
Justice Abimbola Awogboro sentenced them following their guilty pleas to the two-count charge preferred by the National Drug Law Enforcement Agency (NDLEA).
They admitted peddling 216g of Indian hemp and pleaded for leniency.
After their pleas, the court reviewed the facts of the case and convicted them.
NDLEA counsel N.J. Mamza tendered several exhibits against Messrs Osinachi and Enwere, urging the court to convict them based on their guilty pleas and evidence before the court.
Mr Mamza had tendered as exhibits their statement, a drug analysis form and a sealed envelope, among other things.
The court admitted all the exhibits.
According to NDLEA, the convicts committed the offences on November 15, 2023, at Lekki, Lagos.
The court also sentenced Rasaq Bello to 300 hours of community service for drug trafficking.
Mr Bello illegally dealt in 487g of Indian hemp on November 30, 2023, at Surulere, Lagos State, according to NDLEA.
He also admitted guilt before the court.
