Newly inaugurated cabinet members in the Ikorodu Local Government Area of Lagos State have pledged to work closely with the council leadership to accelerate economic growth and deliver greater development.

The cabinet members, including the secretary, supervisors, and advisers, made the pledge during their swearing-in on Monday at the council secretariat in Ikorodu.

Speaking on behalf of the team, the secretary to the local government, Yusuf Lawal, reaffirmed the administration’s commitment to people-centred governance under its Security, Education, Enhanced Healthcare, and Development agenda.

Mr Lawal assured residents that the new executives would collaborate with the executive chairman, Adedayo Ladega, to drive meaningful progress across Ikorodu communities.

“We will work together with the chairman and councillors with a mandate of Ikorodu first to deliver greater development and the dividends of democracy,” he said.

He urged residents to support the administration to ensure that ongoing programmes translate into tangible benefits for communities across the council area.

In his remarks, Mr Ladega thanked residents for their trust and urged the appointees to uphold integrity, discipline, teamwork, and dedication in the discharge of their duties.

The chairman highlighted achievements, including improved community safety and the distribution of free Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board and General Certificate of Education forms to indigent students.

He also cited expanded healthcare through the ‘Ìtọjú Àgbà’ scheme, medical outreaches, and ongoing infrastructure and empowerment initiatives across the council area.

Mr Ladega expressed confidence that the new cabinet would accelerate development and strengthen service delivery.

“We will work together to deliver more impactful projects for our people,” he said.

Council officials, party leaders, and community stakeholders attended the ceremony.
