Lagos to divert traffic at Eko Bridge for six months

The Lagos State government announced on Thursday that traffic will be diverted for six months on Eko Bridge (Alaka-Apongbon) for federal government to commence repair works on the road
In a statement on Thursday, the state commissioner for transportation, Dr Frederic Oladeinde said that the road diversion would start from March 5, 2022, to September 5, 2022.
Mr Oladeinde said the diversion would not affect cars inbound Apongbon from Alaka, but trucks will be restricted from plying the routes due to the repair work.
He said trucks will be diverted towards Costain Roundabout to access their destination.
He said the Lagos State Traffic Management Authority would be on ground to coordinate movement and help motorists navigate the axis during the construction
Mr Oladeinde assured Lagosians that the result would be beneficial to all stakeholders while he lauded the citizens for their continued understanding and patience amidst various ongoing road projects within the state.
