Lagos urges youth involvement in resolving security challenges

The Lagos State government on Saturday underscored the essence of youth involvement in tackling security challenges to enable a safer environment.
The Secretary to the State Government, Bimbola Salu-Hundeyin, made the call during a meeting with the leaders of the Police Community Relations Committee (PCRC), Lagos State Command.
According to a statement on the state government’s website, the leaders included the PCRC chairman, Kehinde Showemimo, and the supervising heads of the 14 area commands.
Ms Salu-Hundeyin told Mr Showemimo that the youth, with a large population, must be actively involved in fighting insecurity.
The SSG highlighted that the strength of the youth will be beneficial in creating a safer society and will further reduce the workload of the PCRC and other stakeholders.
“The youths are known for their strength and energetic presence anywhere they are, and bringing them on board will further make the work of the PCRC and other stakeholders easier,” Ms Salu-Hundeyin stated.
She added that the youths, being technologically savvy, can contribute their expertise in infrastructure security.
Ms Salu-Hundeyin noted that the government’s collaboration with PCRC and other security agencies guarantees a safer and more secure Lagos.
