Late Bauchi strong supporter of pilgrims’ welfare: NAHCON boss

Chairman/Chief Executive Officer of the National Hajj Commission of Nigeria (NAHCON), Prof. Abdullahi Usman, has expressed sorrow over the passing of renowned Islamic scholar, Sheikh Dahiru Usman Bauchi.
Mr Usman said that the late Islamic icon remained a strong supporter of pilgrims’ welfare, as he played special roles in the growth and reform of the hajj sector in Nigeria.
In a statement in Abuja on Saturday by his Technical Assistant on Media, Ahmad Muazu, the NAHCON boss sent his condolences to the immediate family, students and followers of the late scholar.
He described his death as a great loss to the Muslim Ummah.
He said the scholar’s counsel helped improve religious guidance and spiritual readiness for Nigerians performing hajj.
According to Mr Usman, whenever the commission needed direction on sensitive matters of faith, the late Bauchi’s doors were open.
He said, “His wisdom provided practical solutions that improved the system used to serve pilgrims today. Sheikh Dahiru Bauchi was a great scholar and a guide. He stood for knowledge and righteous conduct. He always reminded us that every Nigerian pilgrim must be treated with dignity and care. His passing has left a void that will be hard to fill.”
The NAHCON chairman prayed for Allah to shower His mercy on the late scholar and to reward his lifelong service to Islam with Aljannatul Firdaus.
He prayed that Allah grants his family, followers and the community at large patience and comfort during the painful moment.
