Latif ‘Latz’ Ayodele, Sina Ghamia: Knowing Anthony Joshua’s friends who died in fatal accident 

The late Ghami was among the team members who managed Joshua to his historic heavyweight titles over Wladimir Klitschko in 2017.

Monday’s fatal accident on the Lagos-Ibadan Expressway involving former heavyweight boxing champion, Anthony Joshua, claimed the lives of two of his associates, Latif ‘Latz” Ayodele and Sina Ghami.

While Mr Joshua is recuperating in a hospital, the news of the demise of his two friends who came to Nigeria on vacation with him has thrown boxing world into mourning.

Following the incident on Monday, Matchroom Boxing, Joshua’s career-long promoter, confirmed that Ayodele and Ghami who died on the spot in the accident were team members of the former heavyweight champion as photos of the trio continue to trend across social media.

Latif ‘Latz’ Ayodele
Popularly known as Latz, Ayodele, a British-Nigerian fitness professional, personal trainer and close friend of Joshua, was 36 years old.

As a fitness trainer, he ran an Instagram page, healthy mindset, where he shared his activities and personal photos.

Aside working with Joshua, Latz had worked with other top athletes and celebrities including David Beckam, Cristiano Ronaldo and Zlatan Ibrahimovic. He converted to Islam in 2012.

“Finding Islam in 2012 has been my biggest blessing Alhamdulilah,” Latz wrote in one of his Instagram posts. “It allowed me to meet so many good brothers Muslim and non-Muslim and build a strong brotherhood. Allah has truly blessed me in this Dunya and will be forever grateful.”

In one of his photos on his Instagram page, Latz could be seen on his knees as he lead both Joshua and the late Ghami in prayer in a mosque.

Sina Ghami
Ghami is a Brits fitness expert popular known as Sina Evolve. He specialises in musculoskeletal injuries and corrective exercise and was a prominent member of Joshua’s team.

The late Ghami was among the team members who managed Joshua to his historic heavyweight titles over Wladimir Klitschko in 2017.

As a sports rehabilitation expert, the late Ghami had worked with NFL players including Jerel Worthy and BJ Cunningham and NBA star Jamal Green. He co-founded Evolve Gym in London in 2017.
