Leon Edwards knocks out Kamaru Usman to win UFC title

Leon Edwards, on Sunday morning, defeated Kamaru Usman to win the UFC 278 at the Vivint Smart Home Arena in Salt Lake City, USA.
Usman had outpointed Edwards seven years ago to earn the title of UFC’s pound-for-pound king.
But this time, Edwards knocked out Kamaru in Round 5 of UFC 278, claiming the UFC welterweight championship title.
Speaking after the fight, Edwards said, “I feel great. They all said I couldn’t do it. They all said I couldn’t do it. Look at me now. It doesn’t matter. “From the trenches. I’m built like this. I go until the final bell. Pound-for-pound, head shot, dead.”
In a tweet on Sunday, Usman admitted his performance wasn’t good enough while vowing to bounce back.
“Champs f$ck up sometimes… but we bounce back and come with vengeance!!,” Usman tweeted.
This came hours after Oleksandr Usyk defeated Nigerian-born heavyweight boxer, Anthony Joshua.
Usyk retained the WBA (Super), IBF and WBO heavyweight titles with the victory over Joshua.
The Ukrainian, who had handed Joshua a defeat last September through a unanimous decision, defeated Joshua after 12 rounds that ended in 113-115, 115-113 and 116-112 at the arena in Jeddah, Saudi Arabia.
