Liverpool announce Arne Slot as new manager

Premier League side, Liverpool, have announced the appointment of Dutchman Arne Slot as the club’s new manager after the departure of Jurgen Klopp following the completion of the Premier League season.
“We can announce Arne Slot has agreed a deal to become the club’s new head coach, formally taking up the position on June 1, 2024, subject to a work permit,” Liverpool said in a statement posted on social media on Monday:
The 45-year-old had agreed to take over from Klopp last month after Dutch side Feyenoord and Liverpool agreed on a £9.4m compensation for Slot to join the Reds ahead of the 2024/25 season.
“The 45-year-old will join the Reds from Feyenoord ahead of the 2024-25 season after a deal was reached with the Eredivisie club for his services,” the statement noted.
Slot, who guided Feyenoord to the Eredivisie league title during the 2022/23 campaign, will become the first manager from the Netherlands to take charge of Liverpool when he resumes his new role in June.
