Man, 25, arraigned for allegedly causing breach of peace

A 25-year-old man, Opeyemi Lamidi, was on Tuesday charged before a Grade A Customary Court sitting at Mapo Ibadan, Oyo State, for allegedly causing a breach of peace and malicious damage to furniture.
He is standing trial on a two-count charge of causing a breach of peace and malicious damage.
Lamidi, however, pleaded not guilty to the charges.
Consequently, the court’s President, Mrs O.E. Owoseni granted the defendant bail in the sum of N50,000, with two reliable sureties in like sum.
The court held that the sureties must be blood relations of the defendant.
Owoseni added that each of the sureties must exhibit a valid identification card.
She adjourned the case until January 13, 2026, for hearing.
The prosecutor, inspector Ayodele Ayeni told the court that the defendant committed the offence on December 4, at about 2.30 p.m. at the Adamasingba area of Ibadan.
Ayeni alleged that the defendant conspired with two others now at large, to violently attack the premises of IO Desert Grill Farm, to destroy a table and a chair both valued at N60,000.
He said that the offences contravene the provisions of sections 249(d) and 451 of the Criminal Code Law of Oyo State, 2000.
