The National Youth Service Corps (NYSC) has directed married prospective youth corps members to report for registration at the orientation camps in their husbands’ state of residence, irrespective of the states indicated on their call-up letters.

Information on the directive is in a statement issued on Wednesday in Abuja by Emeka Mgbemena, the scheme’s spokesperson.

Mr Mgbemena stated that the director-general, Shuaibu Ibrahim, gave the directive in a nationwide virtual address to the 2022 Batch “A” Stream Two Prospective Corps Members (PCMs).

However, he added that they must report to camp with their marriage certificates, evidence of change of name in a national newspaper, and other valid marriage documents uploaded during online registration for service.

The NYSC boss said that the scheme initiated the policy to enable them to have a seamless service year.

Mr Ibrahim, however, warned that anyone caught with fake documents either on marital or health grounds in camp would be handed over to law enforcement agents for prosecution.

Mr Ibrahim also announced that the NYSC Internet Protocol Television on TSTV Channel 365 had commenced test transmission. The scheme also got the NYSC FM Radio approval, which would soon start transmission.

“The station would be managed by youth corps members in uniform, while NYSC staff members would provide support services,” he added.
