Mary J. Blige, Cher, Ozzy Osbourne, others selected for Rock and Roll Hall of Fame induction

The prestigious Rock and Roll Hall of Fame has unveiled its newest inductees, including R&B singer Mary J. Blige, pop icon Cher, and the legendary “Prince of Darkness”, Ozzy Osbourne.

Blige, the “Queen of Hip-Hop Soul,” stands out as the first female solo artiste to be inducted this year. 

Rising to prominence in the 1990s, she was known for her distinctive voice and powerful stage presence. Hits like “Real Love,” “No More Drama,” and “Family Affair” catapulted her to stardom, earning her numerous accolades, including Grammy Awards.

Joining her is Cher, fondly called the “Goddess of pop” by fans; her career has spanned over six decades, encompassing genres from pop and rock to dance and folk. 

With hits like “Believe” and “If I Could Turn Back Time,” Cher has cemented her status as a cultural icon and an enduring symbol of resilience and reinvention.

Also on the lineup is Osbourne, frontman of the iconic band Black Sabbath and a solo artiste in his own right. 

Osbourne’s raw energy and uncompromising stage presence have made him a cornerstone of rock history, inspiring generations of musicians with his signature growl and electrifying performances.

Also inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame are the hip-hop group “A Tribe Called Quest and influential punk rockers MC5, Peter Frampton, and Foreigner, among others.

The induction ceremony is slated for October 19 at the Rocket Mortgage Fieldhouse in Cleveland, Ohio, USA.
