Messi broke four World Cup all-time records with Argentina: Guinness World Records

The Guinness World Records confirmed on Monday that Lionel Messi shattered four World Cup all-time records during Argentina’s second Group J match at the AT&T Stadium in Texas.
The 38-year-old has scored all five of Argentina’s goals in two matches at the tournament so far: a hat-trick against Algeria on June 17 and a brace against Austria on Monday.
Listing the records broken on Monday, by the former Barcelona star, with most FIFA World Cup finals goals by a football player – 18; most FIFA World Cup matches played by an individual – 28; most matches won by a player at the football FIFA World Cup – 18; and most minutes played in the football FIFA World Cup – 2,489.
Messi is expected to extend these records as Argentina still has one more group game to play on Sunday, and has already qualified for the knockout stages.
