The executive chairman of Yaliam Press Ltd, Yahaya Amfani, has congratulated the Minister of Education, Tunji Alausa, on his emergence as the most innovative cabinet minister for 2025 in Abuja.

Mr Amfani, in a statement on Tuesday, described the award as a deserving recognition of visionary leadership and wide-ranging reforms aimed at transforming Nigeria’s education sector for national development.

He said Mr Alausa had introduced bold, forward-looking policies within a short time, repositioning education as a key driver of economic growth, youth empowerment, and long-term national competitiveness.

According to him, the minister’s reforms reflect innovation beyond technology, emphasising vision, decisive leadership, and commitment to addressing long-standing challenges in Nigeria’s education system.

Mr Amfani commended efforts in data-driven governance, digital learning integration, and curriculum reforms designed to align Nigeria’s education standards with global practices and evolving labour market demands.

He highlighted progress in technical and vocational education and training, infrastructure upgrades, and skills-based learning initiatives aimed at improving employability and supporting economic diversification.

He also lauded reforms improving access, affordability, transparency in education agencies, and stronger collaboration with private sector stakeholders to enhance overall service delivery and institutional performance.

Mr Amfani listed achievements, including rehabilitation of medical schools, anti-bullying policy development, library revitalisation, university labour negotiations, and reintegration of out-of-school children through Almajiri education reforms.

He also noted the introduction of digital teacher training platforms, curriculum overhaul, Nigerian history reintroduction, student venture capital grants, and nationwide adoption of computer-based examinations across education systems.

He said additional reforms included expanding compulsory education to 12 years, strengthening school safety systems, improving infrastructure, electrification of tertiary institutions, and expanding digital learning through national initiatives.

Mr Amfani expressed confidence that the recognition validated President Bola Tinubu’s decision to appoint Mr Alausa, adding that the award would further accelerate reforms under the Renewed Hope Agenda nationwide.
