Missile debris kills worker, injures two in Bahrain port fire
Debris from an intercepted missile struck a ship in a port area near Bahrain’s capital, Manama, sparking a fire that killed one worker and injured two others.
The Interior Ministry posted on X on Monday that the blaze has been extinguished.
The incident came amid Iranian retaliatory strikes targeting the U.S. allies and positions in the region.
Bahrain hosts the U.S. Navy’s Fifth Fleet, a key centre for American military operations in the Middle East.
The U.S. Embassy in Bahrain had advised its citizens to avoid hotels in Manama, warning they could become targets of attacks.
On Saturday, an Iranian drone struck Bahrain International Airport, causing property damage.
Bahrain, whose population is majority Shiite, is ruled by a Sunni royal family.
