Missing Kaduna girl who hears voices at night found in Maiduguri

A 13-year-old girl who went missing two weeks ago in Kaduna but ended up in Borno has been reunited with her family. The girl was incoherent when asked to explain how she travelled from Kaduna to Maiduguri.
The girl was found wandering at the Borno Express Corporation terminus in Maiduguri and handed over to the police.
According to the spokesman for police command in Borno, ASP Sani Kamilu, a discreet investigation was conducted to trace the girl’s family.
Mr Kamilu said on Thursday, while handing over the girl to her father that she was brought to the police by the chief security officer of the terminus, Ahmadu Buba.
“She has been under the care of the DPO of Metro Police Station, CSP Hadiza Musa Sani, where the case was first reported about two weeks ago,” the police officer explained. “After an in-depth investigation, we found the whereabouts of her parents in Kaduna, who are now here to officially receive her.”
The father, Ado Usman, said the girl, who has a ‘spiritual problem’, had gone missing several times in the past.
“This is not her first time. There was a time she rode a bicycle and was found near Kano. She used to wake up frightened in the night, saying someone was calling her to follow him somewhere. We are doing our best and will continue to pray for her,” Mr Usman said.
He commended the police and all those who helped find and ensure the girl’s safety.
