Morocco 2025: Davido to perform at AFCON kick-off concert

The Confederation of African Football (CAF) has announced that Afrobeats star David Adeleke, professionally known as Davido, will perform at the kick-off concert of the 2025 Africa Cup of Nations, which begins on Saturday.
In a post on Thursday, the African football governing body said the singer will entertain fans at the Olm Souissi Fan Zone in Rabat ahead of the opening game on Sunday.
Moroccan-American singer French Montana, Douaa Lahyaoui, Lartiste, and Says’ Z are also scheduled to perform at the event, which CAF has declared open to fans with a Fan ID and ticket holders.
“It’s all about the rhythm. And it starts long before kickoff! The official #TotalEnergiesAFCON2025 Kick-Off Concert is set with French Montana, Davido, Douaa Lahyaoui, Says’z, and Lartiste,” CAF said.
This would be Davido’s latest appearance at an international sporting event after he performed the official 2022 World Cup ‘Hayya Hayya’ anthem in the closing ceremony of the tournament in Qatar.
He joined Oladapo ‘D’banj’ Oyebanjo and Yemi Alade, who graced the stage at the 2013 and 2024 tournaments, respectively, as Nigerian musicians who have been featured at AFCON.
