The Federal Road Safety Corps (FRSC) has warned the motoring public to desist from assaulting its operatives while discharging their duties.

FRSC sector commander Anthony Uga, the FRSC Sector Commander in Ogun, gave the warning in Sango-Ota on Monday.

Mr Uga said the warning was necessary as FRSC had zero tolerance for assaulting its personnel.

“Any motorist who decides to assault FRSC personnel will be apprehended and handed over to the police and the person will be charged to court accordingly for assaulting a uniformed personnel.

“However, whenever it happens, the perpetrator would definitely face the wrath of the law,” he said.

Mr Uga also said it was an offence for an FRSC operative to assault any motoring public, and anyone engaged in such an act would be charged for an offence against members of the public.

The sector commander noted that the FRSC was not a conquering force but operatives to maintain sanity on the highways.
