My administration working hard to dislodge criminals from Edo, Okpebholo tells residents

The governor assured that anyone involved in kidnapping, cultism, or any form of criminality would be tracked down and brought to justice.

Edo State Governor, Monday Okpebholo, has reassured residents of the state’s commitment to the safety and security of lives and property.

This is contained in a statement on Sunday, by the Chief Press Secretary to the Governor, Dr Patrick Ebojele, in Benin City. 

The governor said that decisive measures were already yielding results in the fight against kidnapping, cultism, and other criminal activities.

He noted that his administration made massive investments in modern security apparatus, intelligence gathering, and inter-agency collaboration, to confront criminals in the state.

He affirmed that kidnapping was being addressed, adding that security operations were ongoing across the state.

Meanwhile, the governor warned against attempts by unscrupulous individuals or groups, to exploit public sentiments to destabilise the peace and security of the state.

He assured that anyone involved in kidnapping, cultism, or any form of criminality would be tracked down and brought to justice.

He stated, “This administration will not allow criminals or their sponsors to take Edo State hostage. Anyone involved in kidnapping, cultism, or any form of criminality will be tracked down and brought to justice. There will be no hiding place for perpetrators.”

He urged the residents to remain calm, vigilant, and law-abiding, and to continue with their daily activities, adding that the government was firmly in control of the security situation.

Mr Okpebholo reaffirmed his determination to win the battle against crime and restore lasting peace across Edo State.
