My nomination will bring development to Edo, Ighodalo says

Asue Ighodalo, the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) governorship aspirant for the September 2024 governorship election in Edo, said Wednesday his nomination and the subsequent election would bring development.
Mr Ighodalo said this while addressing Oredo PDP leaders and members as part of his ongoing state-wide tour in Benin.
He said he has proven track records and capacity to deliver dividends of democracy to the people. The politician noted that, in terms of capacity and experience, he stood tall amongst other aspirants and appealed to the PDP members to nominate him to fly the party’s flag.
Mr Ighodalo assured the people of Oredo of qualitative and people-centred governance if elected governor.
“If you nominate me as a PDP candidate and by the grace of God, I become the governor of Edo state, I will bring more development to Oredo and make it great. This is because Oredo, over the years, has remained the heartbeat of Edo State and, by extension, Nigeria.
“We must join hands together to make Edo greater, as one individual can not do it alone. The issue of security will be given priority in the state because, without security, there will be no meaningful development,” he said.
Osaro Idaho, a PDP chieftain, responded on behalf of leaders and members in Oredo and disclosed that the people in the locality have adopted Ighodalo as their sole aspirant for the election.
“We are going to support and work for Ighodalo to become the next governor of Edo state,” he added. “The leaders and members of the PDP in Oredo have adopted you, Asue Ighodalo, as our sole aspirant for the governorship election in Edo.”
