Nasarawa House of Assembly, on Wednesday in Lafia, commended Governor Abdullahi Sule for increasing the stipend for vulnerable citizens from N7,000 to N10,000.

Hajarat Danyaro, the chairwoman of the House Committee on Women Affairs, gave the commendation when the management of the Nasarawa State Social Investment Agency appeared before the committee to present its 2025 second-quarter budget performance.

Ms Danyaro said that the governor’s gesture would improve the standard of living for vulnerable people in the state.

She said that the committee was impressed by the agency’s performance and urged them to do more to improve the living standards of the target groups.

“You are doing well for the less privileged ones, and I urged you to keep it up,” she said.

Ms Danyaro commended Mr Sule for having the interests of the vulnerable and less privileged at heart.

She assured the agency of the committee’s support at all times to ensure its success.

Imran Jibrin, the director-general of the agency, appreciated the committee for its support of their activities.

Mr Jibrin restated the agency’s commitment to initiating more beneficial programs that would positively impact the lives of the less privileged.

He, however, appealed for more funds to cover the increased stipend for the vulnerable, from N7,000 to N10,000.
