The Nasarawa State House of Assembly says it passed 59 bills and 47 resolutions in the last four years.

Speaker Ibrahim Abdullahi stated this during the sixth assembly’s valedictory session on Wednesday in Lafia, the state capital.

“The 59 bills passed were made up of 50 Executive bills and nine private member bills. We also passed 47 resolutions during the period,” he said.

He noted that the achievements of the house and the state government followed the working relationship between the state’s legislature and the executive.

The speaker appreciated Governor Abdullahi Sule’s support for the house in the last four years.

He also commended the traditional rulers across the state for working tirelessly to complement the efforts of the various arms of government to foster peace and harmony in their communities.

The speaker said his administration initiated a deliberate policy of dialogue with the executive arm of government to absorb casual staff working in the house into core civil service.

He urged the assembly staff to appreciate his efforts by being loyal and dedicated to their duties.
