Naval chief Ogalla urges military to strive for excellence

The chief of naval staff, Emmanuel Ogalla, on Wednesday, charged the members of Junior Course 99 of the Armed Forces Command and Staff College to strive for excellence.
Mr Ogalla gave the charge at the regimental dinner night in honour of Junior Course 99 at the AFCSC, Jaji, in Kaduna.
The dinner provided an opportunity for the military officers to interact, share views, and remind themselves of the highly age-long revered military traditions.
The naval chief commended the commandant and staff of the college for their efforts in training and developing officers.
According to him, the members, of course, had been equipped with the requisite skills and knowledge necessary to operate effectively as staff officers and junior commanders in their respective services.
He said the regimental dinner night was an important part of military traditions, promoting camaraderie and esprit de corps among officers.
Mr Ogalla expressed gratitude to the commandant, staff, and instructors for their efforts in creating a conducive training environment.
“The appellation ‘passed junior staff course’ anywhere in the world confers much responsibility on you in terms of the desired quality and output quantum of your field and staff work.
“Let me commend the impressive efforts of the college for creating an ideal regimental setting for these graduands after rigorous weeks of training.
“I am congratulating the commandant, the Principal Staff Officers and the entire staff of the college for their relentless efforts in turning out yet another set of highly qualified and skilled officers, including international as well as non-military students,” Mr Ogalla said.
He said the graduates of the course were now better equipped to face the challenges of their service life and wished them a successful career.
