The executive secretary of the Nigerian Christian Pilgrims Commission, Stephen Adegbite, has urged Christians to embrace humility and use Christmas to show love.

In his Christmas message on Thursday, Mr Adegbite urged Christians to emulate the virtues of Jesus Christ, who, despite his divinity, came to liberate humanity.

He said Jesus Christ was born in a manger in Bethlehem to exalt the poor and demystify pride and arrogance.

“I, therefore, urge Christians to embrace humility and shun acts that distance them from God.

“I also encourage Christians to use Christmas to show love and extend fellowship to people of other faiths. The season is about grace, joy, love and peace,” he preached.

Mr Adegbite also called for prayers for President Bola Tinubu, Vice-President Kashim Shettima, and the president’s wife, Remi Tinubu.

He expressed optimism that Nigeria would overcome challenges and become a force to reckon with, noting that “prayer remains the sustaining grace of Nigeria”.
