NEDC trains 30 solar installation technicians in Taraba

The North East Development Commission (NEDC) has trained 30 solar installation technicians to provide alternative power source in Taraba using solar panels.
The technicians graduated from the training programme on Sunday.
Speaking during the graduation ceremony held in Jalingo, Bashir Nguroje, the NEDC coordinator in the state, said that the technicians had become “problem solvers”.
He added that the beneficiaries would positively impact their communities and the state in general.
“As a commission, our mandate is to ensure youths across the North East region become self-reliant.
“From the public presentation of the skills acquired, we are sure that they will excel and also train more people.
“We didn’t stop at only training; we have provided starter kits to serve as tools and stipends for their take off,” he said.
The beneficiaries were trained on how to power households off the grid with solar panels and inverters.
