Nigerian detained in Israel released, deported to Turkey

A Nigerian, Okey Vitalis Nnorom, has been released from Israel’s detention, hours after Peoples Gazette reported about his prolonged incarceration.
This development was announced in an X post by the Global Sumud Flotilla (GSF) social media crew on Friday.
“Six of the seven remaining detainees from the first flotilla have now arrived in Istanbul, along with many from the second,” GSF tweeted.
It added, “Most importantly, Okey Vitalis Nnorom from Nigeria, who was believed to be missing, is safe!”
Other participants deported to Istanbul, Turkey, are Christoforos Schuff O’Moore (Norway), Eline Norli (Norway), Samuel Rostol (Norway), Aziz Rhali (Morocco) and Abdeladim Bendraoui (Morocco).
Meanwhile, the group decried the continued detention of Reyes Rigo Cervilla, a Spaniard, who remains in custody.
A pan-African organisation, Africans Rising, had decried the continued detention of three Africans, including Mr Vitalis, also known as Michael, following the interception of the Global Sumud Flotilla (GSF) voyage by Israel’s naval officers, earlier in October.
